Varebeskrivelse:

Denne økologiske kål anvendes i asiatisk madlavning.

Product description:

Variety that do not form heads and have green leaf blades with lighter bulbous bottoms instead. Winter-hardy. Very decorative as plant. It can be planted out late in September when some pots are becoming available. In mild winters, they can stand green thru the winter. You can also move them into the greenhouse before winter, then they will give new leaves in late February or early March before blooming.

Cut whole bunch at soil level when they are compact and firm and before seed stalks form.

The entire vegetable can be used and is often added raw to salads for a satisfying crunch. In soups, the leaves and stalks should be chopped and added separately, since the stalks take longer to cook. Pak choi can also be steamed or boiled, but the stir fry method of cooking seems to release the best flavors. Should be kept in the vegetable compartment of the refrigerator for about 4 weeks but can be also blanched and frozen for 3 to 4 months.
